Italy 11 Day In-Depth Tour

* Verona is the location that Shakespeare’s tragic play took place–Romeo & Juliet (UNESCO World Heritage Site 2000)
* Pompeii: Ancient Roman town destroyed and buried under tons of ashes when Mt.Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD (UNESCO World Heritage Site 1997)
* Siena: a lovely medieval town (UNESCO World Heritage Site 1995)
* The Leaning Tower of Pisa: World famous architecture because of its shifting foundations (UNESCO World Heritage Site 1987)
* Capri: an enchanting & picturesque island. We will overnight on the island for you to fully enjoy spectacular scenery
* Amalfi: a charming resort town on the scenic Amalfi coast. Narrow alleyways winding through the town & the slopes between the sea & mountain
* Enjoy variety of local cuisine: Italian Pizza, Penne with pesto sauce, Florentine Steak & ice cream, Milanese Pork Cutlet with risotto, Spaghetti with squid sauce, fried calamari & shrimps; Tiramisu, Ravioli & Grilled Chicken Leg with Salad, Dessert
* Provide one bottle of mineral water per person per day on the coach
* Provide headset service for 15 and more guests per group for better sightseeing experience

Day 1 USA / Milan

Today, we will take overnight flight to Milan, Italy, arrive the next day.

Day 2 Milan

Upon arrival, city tour will follow: To Sforza Castle, built by Galezaao II Visconti in 1368. Continue to Milan Cathedral–an elaborate Gothic cathedral with many openwork pinnacles, spires and beautiful statues. Later, walk through Galleria Emanuele and onto La Scala Opera House.

Meal: Dinner / Milanese Pork Cutlet with risotto
Hotel: Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Milan or similar

Day 3 Milan-163-Verona-121km-Venice

After breakfast, depart for Verona, where Shakespeare’s famous play took place. Upon arrival, we will visit the 2,000 year old ★Roman Arena & Juliet’s Balcony. Later, depart for Venice, located in Veneto region in northern part of Italy with group of 118 small islands linked by canals and bridges.

Meal: American Breakfast at hotel   Dinner / Spaghetti with squid sauce, fried calamari & shrimps; Tiramisu
Hotel: NH Venezia Laguna Palace or similar

Day 4 Venice-256km-Florence

After breakfast, city tour will follow: To ★San Marco Cathedral, Bridge of Sighs. Continue to Ponte del Rialto bridge, which is the oldest bridge across the canal. At your own expense, you can explore Venice with “Gondola Ride” floating past the beautiful palaces and bridges. Later, depart for Florence.

Day 5 Florence-83km-Pisa-120km-Siena

Florence is considered the birth place of the Italian Renaissance. Upon arrival, sightseeing tour will follow: To Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore-the symbol of this magnificent city. To Piazza della Signoria, you will find Loggia dei Lanzi next to the piazza. It consists of wide arches open to the street and rest on clustered pilasters with Corinthian capitals. Bronze statue of Perseus & Medusa attract most tourists’ attentions. You will also see another world renowned statue of David. Later, transfer to Pisa, a city began to grow and became commercial center of Italy in 11the century. Leaning Tower is one of the most remarkable architectural structures in the world. However, Leaning Tower partially collapsed in 1989; they had announced that the Tower had been stabilized. We will continue our tour to Siena after Pisa.

Day 6 Siena-241km-Rome

Siena is a medieval town with rich history and finest Gothic architecture. After breakfast, to Piazza del Campo-the greatest medieval square in Europe. You will see Fountain of Joy, Mangia Towers & Piazza Pubblico surround the shell-shaped piazza. Later, depart for Rome. Upon arrival, city tour will follow: ★Coliseum, The Arch of Constantine, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Step.

Meal: American Breakfast at hotel   Dinner / Chinese Cuisine, 8 dishes & 1 soup
Hotel: Occidental Aurelia Hotel by Barcelo Rome or similar

Day 7 Rome-243km- Pompeii -25km-Naples

After breakfast, depart for the ancient city of ★Pompeii-famous for its ruins when Mt. Vesuvius erupted in A.D. 79. Explore many well-preserved fossils and ruins lay beneath volcanic ash for centuries and for better understanding of ancient Roman life. Later depart for Naples and overnight in Naples.

Day 8 Naples-45km Capri -30km-Amalfi Coast-30km-Sorrento

After breakfast, depart for ★Capri by boat, and then take smaller boat to ★Blue Grotto; you will experience unearthly blue of its refracted light gleaming on the white sand bottom. Later, return to Capri. Followed by scenic drive along the winding road of the Amalfi coast with amazing view of cliff-side villages. Overnight in Sorrento
*Note: If the Blue Grotto cannot be traveled due to weather cannot be refunded, we will arrange an alternative for Capri Island.

Day 9 Sorrento-265km-Rome

Orientation tour in Sorrento. Depart for Rome in late afternoon.
*Note: If the Blue Grotto cannot be traveled due to weather cannot be refunded, we will arrange an alternative for Capri Island.

Day 10 Rome

Rome is the city with numerous historical and architectural monuments. It is fascinating city for people who have great interest in Roman history. After breakfast, city tour will follow: visit the holly city Vatican, to magnificent ★St. Peter’s Cathedral, designed by Michelangelo, Bramante, Maderno & Lorenzo Bernini. Inside the Cathedral, you can see St. Peter’s tomb, which is located directly below the altar. St. Peter’s sculpture is on the right side of the altar. Later you have free leisure time to enjoy authentic Italian coffee or shop.

Day 11 Rome / USA

After breakfast, transfer to airport for homebound flight to US and ends this unforgettable journey.
